Chord Gitar Halsey - Hometown

D G
davey died in the summertime
     G Em
in a hot boxed car
       D G
with a seatbelt 'round his neck
      G Em
and a needle in his arm

         D G
we would smoke out in the parking lot
  G Em
behind convenience shops
           D
i bought a couple of grams
   G
of weed off him,
    G Em
but so did all the cops back then

    D G
the kids from all the county,
         G Em
we would walk out in the heat
          D
along the train tracks
         G
with our paper bags
    G Em
and gravel in our feet

       D G
in our heads we picked a husband from
    G Em
the hundred men we knew
               D G
but i kissed a poster of a popstar
               G
and checked my breasts
             Em
in case they grew

 D G
 somewhere in the clouds,

 davey's running for a touchdown

     D
 the crowd appears
         G

         D G

         D G
like the others from my high school
          G Em
all those sad suburban ghosts
             D G
trapped in a cross next to a highway
          G Em
while the rest of us get old
